"A Field of Dreams"

What Has Been Revealed Through Dreams Requires That I Play A Special Role in What God Has Already Scripted…

I am so ecstatic about what God is doing in my life. I am so elated that my hardships and struggles are simply for His glory. I am so fortunate that God shows me little bits and pieces of my future through dreams. Some dreams come as warnings (Matt. 27:17-19 and Gen. 20:3-7) where I’ve disregarded the warning, it came to pass, and I got handled; others are of His assignments and promises to me (Gen. 37:5-8). In Acts2:17 it says ‘In the last days, God says, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”’

Just recently, God gave Demorise repetitive dreams concerning something that I have petitioned Him about for years. Through her, He answered my petition (I Kings 3:5-15). I’ve had foolish dreams too during times of worry and stress. Be mindful of Ecclesiastes 5:3, “As a dream comes when there are many cares, so the speech of a fool when there are many words”. I used to wonder why the things God revealed to me in dreams weren’t coming to pass. I would stress, worry, and try to move outside of His will to make things happen in my timing, but “But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.” Proverbs 1:33. I am so grateful that God doesn’t give us what we deserve and regardless of what we do and that His promises are “yea and amen” 2 Corinthians 1:20. Funny how God brings my visions and dreams to pass once I decide to walk in obedience and let my concerns be about the Lord’s affairs and not my own (1Cor. 7:34)

Let’s talk about my “Field of Dreams” outfit. My dress is a vintage, lace wedding dress thrifted from Sack on 72 in Huntsville, AL. My earrings (now a pair of my favorite) were thrifted from Sack on 72 as well. My belt is NY&CO and my shoes are gifted Jessica Simpson’s. I’m rocking wrist wear from my little collection of accessories. I am so happy to let loose my natural again! I loved the theme of this shoot, but I could have done without the heat, random hoping field insects, and weeds! All for the love of fashion….thrifted fashion!

Make sure you seek clarification of what you have received in your dreams through mediation of the word, fasting, and prayer. Let God continue to be the director and playwright of your life, you can’t direct what God has already scripted

"Home Sweet, Home"

Since returning to the states, I’ve had the pleasure of closing on my first house. (To God be ALL the glory!) I’d never imagine in a million years that at the age of 25 I’d buy a house; a newly built house at that! The Lord truly showed out on my behalf, because He knew I’d tell the world that it was HIM! I can’t take credit for what HE did, I dare not! I’m so grateful that I am merely a billboard ad as to how good God is… my success and accomplishments advertise the God I serve. I even had the joy of doing my 1st thrifted photo shoot at home. :)

1 Chronicles 17:27 “Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, O Lord, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever.”

My top was purchased from Old Navy, skirt and denim jacket is thrifted, shoes from Rackroom Shoes, and my earrings are thrifted from St Vincent DePaul thrift store located in Huntsville, AL. I actually took one of my previously worn denim jackets and cut the sleeves off. I’d challenge you to take something old and make it into something NEW.

"The Furnace"

Have you ever found yourself in a place where it seemed like you were in a stagnant place in life? Like you were just spinning your wheels, stuck in the same routine day in and day out? I certainly have. Sometimes in life we go through periods of confusion, turmoil and complacency (FIRE); none of which originates from God. Usually, acting out of the will of God will bring us close to fire. Fortunately, for us we serve a God who is merciful and faithful. According to his Word, "And we know that all things work together for good of those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:27-29 We know that all trials we go through ultimately work out for our good. Therefore, when we find ourselves in this predicament we can rest or in other words have peace because we know that things will work out for our good!

When God allows your situation to consume you sometimes it just means he is elevating you. How so? Well what do we know about fire? Some things about fire are: -It burns/destroys, -It provides light and -It purifies. Confusion, turmoil and complacency are all tactics of the enemy.

Thankfully, as the Holy Spirit protects Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego (Daniel chapter 3), the Holy Spirit will also protect you. When we go through the fire, I believe God uses the fire to burn/destroy un-Godly yokes. People we thought we would be friends with forever suddenly abandon us, which can cause great grief. I believe God allows these things to happen so that we can shed ourselves of bondage as to allow us grow more in Christ.

I believe God uses the fire to provide light. Often times we question God asking, why me? This question can suggest that we are looking at the problem from what I call a "Me, Myself and I" perspective. I have been in that place where I felt what I was going through was about me. Well, I had to learn that sometimes God allows us to go through the fire not necessarily for our sake but so that someone else can be set free. Fire provides light and according to God's word, "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden "Matthew 5:13-15. Therefore, people are watching and they will see how God will bring you out and bless you. God specializes in the impossible so when you have restored all the things you've lost, God will get the glory out of your life. That is why it is so important to hold fast to God's word and promises so that you can find rest perfect peace. There is a story in the bible where Paul and Silas go and tell about God's word. Well, long story short they end up getting thrown in jail. Well they could have cried and complain but instead they gave God praise. They praised him so loud that in the midnight hour God shook the jail and not only set them free but also set other free as well. Your fire that you are going through will set others free, so I encourage you to never cease in giving God praise.

Lastly, fire purifies. It’s nothing like a crisis that will drop you to your knees. As you seek God, he will give you clarity, understanding and revelation. These things manifest into wisdom. I believe wisdom reinforces faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for... and according to scripture: "And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure" 1 John 3:2-4. There are many definitions of pure but one I like is: free of contamination. Free of contamination to me symbolize free of negative people, free of false idols, free of distractions, free of pride and etc. Going through a storm humbles me quick; in fact going through storms has brought me to a place of humility faster than any sermon. Usually, because I am forced to reevaluate my life, I go through the process of deleting. Deleting habits of destruction, i.e. listening to music that does not Glorify God. Fire brings purity. It will purify you.

When you go through the fire, it tends to burn away some things, shed light on some things so that you & God can deal with those things. Dealing with those things allows for a process of self evaluation, repentance and restoration ultimately ending in purification.
